AGAIN AND BETTER. A Fashion Show / Made in Vesna

22. 4.  17.00  Vesna

A showcase of upcycled models from the Vesna Wardrobe, presented by both professional and amateur creators. The Made in Vesna project returns to the roots of the Women’s Educational and Production Association Vesna, in which working with textiles in all its forms has been an integral part of its 150-year history.

At the show, their models will be presented, among others, by Lenka Klodová, Karolina Raimund, Honza Mikulica, Chiara Kúbeková, Mila Petriv, Adéla Kočičková, and Nikola Schöblová from FaVU. These authors connect the theme of upcycling with equality, truthfulness, and curiosity. Aleš Šeliga from the alešbáry studio, together with fashion design student Ondřej Sovadina, will present models created from jackets.
Additional works were produced by participants of workshops at Vesna using various techniques.

The show will be accompanied by an exhibition of Made in Vesna products, which are sewn by women in difficult life situations from materials donated to Vesna by the public.

Lenka Klodová: “In my upcycling idea, I start from a catastrophic situation in which only men’s clothing remains on Earth. This situation could arise after some specific apocalypse, but it can also occur on a smaller scale in an emergency situation that I do not even want to describe. We start from a men’s shirt; we need nothing else, and with just a few movements we turn it into elegant panties. I was interested in the possibilities of creativity without any tools or aids. This kind of creativity is inventive, takes new and unexpected paths, and in my opinion is the basis of survival, because it looks at things in an unconventional way.”
