LIBĚNA ROCHOVÁ: TOUCHES

The exhibition of Liběna Rochová’s clothing designs is not just a retrospective of an important Czech fashion designer. It is also an attempt to look at fashion differently – as a language that speaks about space, the body, the soul, and society. Clothing becomes a sculpture, a performative object, and a cultural statement. And this is precisely what makes Liběna Rochová’s work so extraordinary: she always transcended the boundaries of her discipline and opened up new connections. The retrospective exhibition is divided into several thematic sections. Each of them presents a different dimension of the author’s work – from fascinating experiments with form and material in the 1980s, through iconic collections inspired by art, to her more recent projects, where clothing is understood as an intimate touch or as a commission carrying a personal story. Visitors will thus be able to take a symbolic journey that reflects the development of Czech fashion and the transformation of thinking about design.
