Dřív než prijde klekánice / guided tour & live performance DWO & VDRT
We would like to warmly invite you this Thursday at 4:00 PM to a guided tour of the exhibition Before the Curfew Comes by Martina Valchářová.
The program will begin at 2:00 PM with an improvised back-to-back live set by Petr Dvořáček (DWO) and David Pirochta (VDRT), two music producers working at the intersection of experimental electronics and sound design.
The guided tour will conclude with a listening session of the LP SIRĀT (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) by Kangding Ray, released by Invada Records (2026).
“Martina Valchářová’s paintings are created on old metal sheets originating from the remnants of the demolition of a former factory and engage with motifs of sound system culture, nomadism, circus tents, residential trucks, and temporary gatherings. These are environments that are open, inviting, and at the same time ambiguous.”
“The fragility of these situations is reflected in the paintings as a silence before movement, before evening, before the moment when the world begins to change.”
“Here, the curfew does not function as a punishment, but as a protective mechanism that defines a time and space within which one can still move safely.”
“The paintings work with the atmosphere of abandoned places, traces of time, and temporariness. Rust, patina, and the raw metal surface carry the experience of wear, presence, and disappearance.”
“In the context of Galerie Průchod, a space exposed to movement and external interventions, the exhibition becomes a sensitive interface between freedom and surveillance, between openness and care — a moment just before dusk, before the curfew comes.”
“Here, the curfew is not a figure, but a moment. A state between approach and distance, between the desire for autonomy and the awareness of risk.”
