Jan Bražina’s work revolves around sculpture, often using textile as a key material. For him, textile symbolizes domestic peace and background, but also transitions into the creation of masks and costumes. Through his art, Bražina expresses his feelings about the rigidity of heteronormative relationships. He employs a variety of materials to represent the complexity of interpersonal relationships.
Bražina experiments with dyeing, sewing, tearing, and other forms of material degradation. The intuitive process of dipping the materials into plaster or concrete further explores the contrast between the softness and hardness of certain materials, enhancing the emotional depth of his works.
