Stones of Brno / Guided Tour

Do you know what material the Parnas Fountain is made of? Or what types of rocks were used to build the walls below Petrov? And what kind of bedrock supports Špilberk Castle?

Join us for a guided tour exploring Brno’s landmarks and the rock formations that played a crucial role in building the city. We will visit significant medieval and modern monuments of Brno and uncover their history written in stone. Geologist Tomáš Turek will provide expert commentary filled with fascinating facts about the origins of the materials that shape the Moravian metropolis.

Meeting point: Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Moravské náměstí, in front of the statue of Jošt. The guided walk will continue through Brno’s historic center and conclude at 5:00 PM.
