Ines Doujak: Semínka

7. 4., 8. 4.  15.00  Distillery

He who sows the wind, reaps the whirlwind. The exhibition Seeds by Austrian artist Ines Doujak speaks about sowing and harvesting, both literally and figuratively. The key piece is a collection of almost 400 types of seeds, which the author connects with important women in history and reflects on the themes of colonialism, patriarchy and unequal access to resources. An important part of the exhibition is also an encyclopedia of these women (newly translated into Czech) and the three-meter-high sculpture Walking Cemetery.

The exhibition, which opened on the eve of International Women’s Day, is a tribute to all those who, in an environment of patriarchal dominance, resist marginalization, repression, but often even death. The eloquent symbol of a clenched fist, which flared up during the opening, is a reminder of how much is at stake here.

You can visit the exhibition on Monday, April 7th and Tuesday, April 8th, from 3 pm to 7 pm.
